Our Belgian shepherd/lab mix does the Happy Dance at meal time now when he gets this food! He certainly never did that before. His coat has become more soft and glossy, he's obviously happy and healthy, and pleased to be eating Hills. He especially likes the Beef/Chicken and Chicken flavors.

Although I'm generally satisfied with the ingredients, and although water is indeed the first listed, I find that the consistency of the product is slightly too hard. This isn't necessarily a problem if one is serving the entire can, but often we refrigerate it for several feedings, and so the coldness only makes the stiffness worse. The stiffness makes mixing the product with dry food difficult, as well as hiding pills. Further, we serve the product with disposable plastic forks, and sometimes the stiffness actually breaks the fork prongs and we have to smear and prod to dig them out of the food! Not ideal. I feel if the product were made slightly "looser", it would be a great item. Another draw-back is that these cans do NOT have a modern easy pull-tab top, and one needs a can opener. This is behind-the-times, and *most* comparable products from other manufacturers do have the pull tabs, which is a definite decision feature for consumers feeding canned food daily. Thank you for your consideration.

Comments about Hill's Science Diet Canine Beef & Chicken Entree:

We have been very pleased with the Science Diet canned food product line. My dog has a very sensitive system and this is the only dog food that does not upset her stomach. She likes the canned beef & chicken product the most, so we have kept her on it.

My dog has a slightly sensitive stomach. The vet recommended this food and it has been her favorite with no stomach upsets for 12 years.
