I put my cats on this due to skin problems I suspected were caused by food allergies. I had them on the regular salmon wet food first which they all loved but then realized I should have put them on the L.I.D. version so I switched them over to it. One cat, the oldest and a male, loves it. My young male cat tolerates it but prefers the Natural Balance dry food. My middle age female absolutely refused to eat for days on end until I gave her the regular salmon formula again. She would scavenge around in the kitchen for scraps and even got into the garbage, rather than eat this formula. I finally gave in and started giving her what she wanted. I'll keep the young male on this, however, because his skin issues are severe and cause him to lick all his fur off of his lower half, and since he's been on this food his fur has finally started growing back. I could only recommend this to someone whose cat had serious food allergy issues and if that cat was already eating a "junk" cat food so that this food would seem like a treat in comparison, otherwise he may not take to it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought these limited ingredient products because my cats would not eat the prescription ones. They love this food and we have not had any skin problems with the one cat who has a dermatological issue and needs the limited ingredient food.
