This is a very cool toy! THe squeaker is oddly differentand the legs make it a great pull toy. THe one problem was that the top ball, the smaller of the two, was torn out by one of the dogs. It took a while, though. This is our second one of this toy, and I repurchased it since the dogs love it, and it is quite durable.

My dogs love KONGS. The super tough KONGS not so much because they don't DO anything except sit there, unless you add a treat. They SHOULD make them squeaky and throw a tail on them and I'd pay twice as much but they know they've got us dog lovers in a bind with these things. They ARE the toughest toy but not by much.

If your dogs are big chewers, which my dogs are, they MUST be watched. My dogs can consume, meaning eat or partially eat an entire KONG in a half hour, ten minutes if they're feeling particularly chewy. And they're not mastiffs. One's a hound and the other a Boxer/Beagle mix.

I've written to the KONG people and they've sent me coupons to buy more KONGS. It's an endless cycle.

As an aside, I've noticed ALL the tougher toys - for example, the one that looks like a devil (we call it helltoy) - the toys that used to last months, sometimes years don't last an hour anymore.

They're all cheap junk and only just a little better than the dollar store real cheap junk. They last long enough for us to clean up the mess before the dog eats it entirely, squeaker and all.
Let me tell you toy manufacturers something...we are not liking this, that dog toys are now very dangerous and very quickly destroyed.

WE WANT TOUGHER DOG TOYS!!!! (and dont tell me you can't make them because you USED to.)

Comments about Kong Wubba Dog Toy:

My dog loves this thing although she managed to de-squeak it quickly with help from another puppy. It works great for tug of war and my dog likes whipping it around by herself. Definitely wish the squeak ball didn't come out so quickly but she is still playing with the de-squeaked toy so it's all good.

Comments about Kong Wubba Dog Toy:

My dog is crazy for these. She gets such a kick out of destroying every inch of it, and these last longer than other rope toys where you end up with string all over the house and possibly in her belly. She likes to offer me the tentacles to hold onto for endless games of tug. The plastic balls inside are easy to tear into little pieces so if you have a puppy or a dog who eats everything, I'd cut off the heads and just leave them the tentacles to play with.

Comments about Kong Wubba Dog Toy:

My two dogs love Wubbas! Eventually, especially if your dog is left to chew/destroy the toy, it will probably be torn apart but it's enjoyed in the meantime. Plus, when it gets gross, we just toss it in the washer. Works for us.

            Q&A

            Manufacturer

            The KONG Story:

KONGs story began with a German Shepherd named Fritz, his owner, and a Volkswagen van. Fritz, a former police dog, enjoyed chewing rocks. This activity wore down his teeth and frustrated his owner, Joe Markham. One afternoon while working on his Volkswagen van, Joe noticed Fritz dining on rocks once again. Out of desperation, he started disassembling the van he was working on and threw parts near Fritz to see if he could be coaxed away from his destructive dinner. Radiator hoses didn’t work--neither did anything else until he pulled off a rubber suspension part and tossed it to Fritz. Right away, Fritz was ecstatic.

The KONG was born! While Fritz invented the KONG, it was Joe Markham who saw the potential of this odd-looking toy. Markham refined the toy’s design, developed a proprietary, super-strong rubber formula and began production in 1976.
