Product Details

Vetoryl (Trilostane) is used to treat both pituitary- dependent hyperadrenocorticism (PDH) and adrenal-dependent hyperadrenocortism (ADH) Cushing's disease.
PDH: This is the most common form of the disease (80% to 50% of spontaneous cases), and it often occurs as a result of a benign tumor of the pituitary gland. This tumor causes the pituitary gland to produce large amounts of ACTH, which stimulates the adrenal glands to produce excessive amounts of cortisol.
ADH:This form of the disease is less common (15% to 20% of spontaneous cases), occurs when a tumor develops in one , or sometime both, adrenal glands. This tumor produces excessive levels of cortisol.
Vetoryl Capsules (Trilostane) Features and Benefits:
  • Promising treatment for Cushing's Disease in dogs
  • Treats both pituitary-dependent and adrenal-dependent cases
  • Controls excess production of cortisol
  • Fewer and less severe side-effects reported than Mitotane.

Storage: Store at room temperature in a tight, light-resistant, childproof container. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

      Comments about Vetoryl Capsules (Trilostane):

Our 12-year old dog, Jodie (a 28 lb CockaPoo / Wheaton Terrier mix), has been on Vetoryl for 15 months for Cushing's Disease. She looks and acts like a healthy, youthful 5-year old. Our neighbors jokingly ask us if her medication come in prescription for adult humans !!! Honestly ! D. Johnson
