I bought four containers of these treats for my large lab and he loved them. Some of the chunks were really big, and I don't know how a cat would have been able to handle that without some help to break it down in size. The other thing to realize is these things are freeze-dried, so there is absolutely no moisture in them at all, so be sure to have some fresh water near by so your pet can wash the treat down. My biggest complaint is the smell. The fishy smell is powerful, but had my big boy's nose moving a million miles and hour with interest...mine not so much.

not for my dog

My dog doesn't like this product, but my cat will eat it. I give it to him when I get home from work.

My two small dogs will do Anything for a piece of this tripe. Really, they would stand on their heads for it if they could figure out how to do it.

Comments about Evangers Evanger's Freeze Dried Wild Salmon Dog and Cat Treats:

Product color is much darker than typical freeze-dried salmon, but my hope is that it still qualifies as raw. Online description said "freeze-dried," while package description said "gently dried." Need more accurate online description. My cat does seem to enjoy it as a snack, and the price is great.

Comments about Evangers Evanger's Freeze Dried Wild Salmon Dog and Cat Treats:

Our dog has colitis and is on a salmon and potato diet. I am always on the look out for treats for him. I love these. Sometimes they came in a hard form and other times in a softer freeze dried form - not sure why - but they do the trick. He loves them and his stomach has been in good shape. They are so perfect, I have them on auto buy

Way too hard for a cat

Comments about Evangers Evanger's Freeze Dried Wild Salmon Dog and Cat Treats:

Have 6 cats, 1 toy pom dog & 28 horses...these filets are incredibly hard, even when soaked in warm water. No way could any of the cats eat it. I would be concerned feeding these to a large dog due to some of the pieces not breaking up and being a choke or irritation risk. Too bad as all my cats/dog love salmon...I'll just have to keep buying the expensive ones as I only feed natural treats. Perhaps if more moisture was left in them it would be a better product for cats.
