How is this medication given? Before applying spray, make sure the affected skin is clean and dry. Excess hair should also be clipped prior to applying medication. Spray this medication on skin lesion(s) according to your veterinarians specific instructions. Always consult with your veterinarian if you have questions about how to use Gentamicin/Betamethasone Spray correctly.

How does this medication work? This topical medication contains antibiotic and corticosteroid. The antibiotic (Gentamicin) kills susceptible bacteria on the skin and infected wounds. This spray also contains a corticosteroid (Betamethasone) that works to decrease inflammation associated with infected skin.

What results can I expect? The affected skin should appear less red, wounds should decrease in size, and any discharge that may be present should resolve. If you are not noticing an improvement in your pets skin, call your veterinarian for further instructions.

Dose and Administration:Use this medication topically as directed by your veterinarian. If you forget to apply this medication, you can use it as soon as you remember but do not give two doses at one time. This medication should only be used on the pet it has been prescribed for.

Uses: Gentamicin/Betamethasone topical spray is used to treat susceptible skin wounds, infections, and related inflammation.

Possible Side Effects: If you used this medication topically, there are few side effects. Side effects expected with corticosteroids including increased drinking and urinating, increased appetite, weight gain, panting, diarrhea, vomiting, and behavior changes may occur if this medication is accidentally ingested.

If this medication is ingested for long periods of time, delayed wound healing and immunosuppression may occur.

Pets that are sensitive to this medication may experience an allergic reaction.

If your pet appears ill while this medication is being used, call your veterinarian without delay.

Drug and Food Interactions: Tell your veterinarian about all other medications and supplements your pet is taking.

If your pet accidentally ingests this medication, stomach ulcers and some other problems may occur if non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are also being given.

Interactions may occur with aminoglycosides. Other interactions are also possible.

Precautions:Do not use in animals who are have an allergy to any of the ingredients.

Avoid contact with the eyes.

Use this medication only on the skin. It should not be ingested. Premature births or birth defects have been reported if steroids are used at high doses or for extended periods.

Storage:Store at room temperature out of reach from children and pets.
