Product Information

There is a right way and a wrong way for large breed dogs to lose weight. Merely cutting down on portions can mean loss of both nutrition and muscle tone. To lose weight correctly, a large breed dog must stimulate the use of its fat reserves. A high protein, reduced fat diet allows for mobilization of energy reserves without reducing muscle tone. Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care 27 Large Breed Dry Dog Food is made with a specially tailored lower density kibble, with natural flavors and aromas, helping to ensure that your pet will enjoy meal time and feel fuller, longer. This provides more of an opportunity to achieve optimal body weight. Joints of a large breed dog receive a lot of pressure. Glucosamine and chondroitin help to protect the joints; omega 3 essential fatty acids from anchovy oil help limit inflammation there. A well-balanced, low energy food, Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care 27 Large Breed Dry Dog Food contains all the nutrients a dog needs, such as essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, despite restricted calories. It is for large breed dogs (56 to 100 pounds,) from 15 months to five years of age, who are prone to obesity.

  • Restricted calories
  • Weight management support
  • Appetite satisfaction
  • Healthy joints
  • Maintains muscle tone

We started using this product after my dog was prescribed medication that made him gain weight. This food satisfies his hunger and helps maintain his weight.

Comments about Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care 27 Large Breed Dry Dog Food:

Our shepherd/chow loves Royal Canin Large Breed dog food. We alternate between diet and regular depending on his activity level. We tried switching him to cheaper chow (it's a little expensive in my opinion) and regretted it immediately. He was a bit overweight when we adopted him and our vet is very happy with his condition now.

Comments about Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care 27 Large Breed Dry Dog Food:

My six dogs are fed Royal Canin because it has proved to be the best food for them. We have 2 medium size mixed breeds and 4 Great Danes. This product satisfies all of their needs. For a short time, I tried BLUE, but soon returned to Royal Canin, which prompted my vet to volunteer that he thought I had made the best choice with Royal Canin.

        Manufacturer

The ethos of the Royal Canin brand is based on its unique vision of the dog and the cat: The conviction that dogs and cats are not human beings but animals, and as a result true respect obliges us to treat them as such. True respect implies certain obligations, one of which is the pursuit of knowledge. To truly know the animal and understand its specific physiological and nutritional requirements, and--in consequence--guarantee it a "tailor made" food in line with its real nutritional needs. Royal Canin's philosophy is therefore deliberately non-anthropomorphic. In the field of canine and feline nutrition, some manufacturers put the owners first and use them as the basis of all innovation. At Royal Canin, we put the dog and the cat at the heart of our research process; this is a radically different approach.
