Comments about Tidy Cats Litter Tidy Cats Non-Clumping Breathe Easy for Multiple Cats Cat Litter:

We were using the really sand-like Petco brand initially when we got our new kitten. We new that wouldn't work for long--it tracked EVERYWHERE and the dust was killing me--I'm a little sensitive when it comes to that, but it was realllly bad. I read that non-clumping litter may be better for cats in general but especially for kittens and also that this was really low dust/tracking so we decided to try this Tidy Cats formula. The tracking dust issue is 100% better. It's barely an issue anymore. I might find an occasional granule or 2, but that's almost nothing, so tracking really is no longer a problem. I'm incredibly happy about that. I can tell a huge difference with the dust too, as my allergies are no longer acting up. I am a bit disappointed with the "antimicrobial" aspect. We have a covered box with a door, because we don't have a huge space--thank God that's the case, because this litter doesn't do a whole lot to prevent the smell. I am glad it's unscented since heavy perfume smells don't usually agree with me (most people would say, duh, well that's why there's not a lot of odor control, but I thought the antimicrobial odor-control promise would at least help a little). Thankfully the smell mostly does stay in the litter box--only occasionally when it's time to change can I faintly smell it outside, but going to open the top to change the box is a pretty horrific undertaking. Also, just for out cat, she seemed to prefer the sandier texture more than thicker granules, so she doesn't bury everything as well as she used to, which may impact the odor issues as well. We're sticking with this litter. It does it's job for the most part and has solved a few major issues.
