I have 4 guineas who are very picky due to being spoiled. They eat all veggies and almost all fruits, dandelions, anything that I know they love. I've been purchasing my Timothy Hay in 35 pounds or more from a farm. Even though the hay from the farm is less expensive,[...] the hay I got from the farm was not all eaten by the Guineas. They would eat the seed tops off and make bedding from the rest. This is my first time purchasing Oxbox after buying from the farm and I have to say that when I feed them Oxbow hay there is no leftover hay, for bedding. I have to assume that they are eating it all and they must love it. I've tried Kaytee hay when I first got my Guineas and I will never purchase that brand again. I got more splinters than I was willing to deal with. Also 2 of my guineas had splinters in their eyeballs from Kaytee hay. I have to say that I probably saved money on the purchase [...] because the Guineas are not wasting the hay as they were with the organic farm hay. Hope this helps.

This is the second bag of "Timothy Hay" that I have ever bought. However, I did purchase the 1st bag from a Neighborhood Pet Store, not here. I found it to be very fresh and the leaves were easily folded so as to fit them into paper-towel spools (which is always a fun playtime hide-n-seek game for small animals). I just thought that "Timothy Hay" is "Timothy Hay" no matter where you buy it from. I guess not... I found out that sometimes there can be drier batches than others. And sometimes it doesn't matter where you get it from. (I see others have had this same thing happen-) It can happen just about anywhere you get it from. So I sure hope the next bag of Hay I purchase from "NATIONAL PET SUPPLY" is just as fresh as the first one I got from the neighborhood pet store .[...]

Poor quality of hay,appears to be a 1st cut although that is not disclosed in description. Too course for guinea pigs. I throw more than half out as they can't eat it. Bought two 9 lb bags, what a waste.

Always a consistant, very good quality we use for pet rabbits. Since larger quantities are not available in local pet stores, Pet Food Direct offers the best sizes and quality at the best prices. Delivery is always very prompt.

I'm very pleased with the quality of Oxbow's Timothy Hay. It's fresh and green and appears to have a nice mixture of soft tips and strong stalks. The buns are happy, so I'm happy.
