Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Moderate Calorie Dry Cat Food:
I've tried other prescription brands for my cat with irritable bowel syndrome and got okay results in the litter box. My vet switched her to royal canin during the Iams recall and I never switched back. My cats really love this food, including my non-ibs cat, which was something of a problem at first (they were always wanting to be fed!). They were originally on the high energy formula but I had the vet switch them to this lower calorie version because my IBS cat that was supposed to weigh maybe 11 lbs weighed over 15! My IBS cat's stool greatly improved overnight on this diet and I was able to stop giving her steroids. What's more is how soft their coats are. I wish the food came in a "grain free" formula but I can't really argue with this product too much with how well my girl has done. It is, however, rather expensive for the quantity. Still, if other less expensive prescription diets aren't helping kitty's stool then this may be a brand to try. Also, I'm not sure how well suited this product is for senior cats.
