My 24 pound solid white Maine Coon suffered from mega colon since he was a year and a half old. He was on two medications three times a day and still went to the vet for enemas 6 to 8 times a year.

Finally, some great research produced Royal Canin Gastrointestinal High Fiber Response. The difference this food made in Gabriel's life (and mine) was incredible, he began to poop everyday, his meds were cut back to twice a day and he went for months at a time without having to have the assistance of the enemas.

I am confident that this food extended Gabriel's life and made life easier for both of us. He died very suddenly of a heart attack last December but was still doing so well on this food right up to the end.

This product is the proverbial "no brainer" if your cat suffers from mega colon / constipation. Worth every penny.

My cat had been on another Royal Canin food for his urinary tract, and after about a year of that he started throwing up almost daily. Since we still have to keep an eye on his urinary tract this food is appropriate for both of his problems. He only throws up about once a week, which I still think is a lot. His feces is larger than I have ever seen come from a cat and I do not love the main ingredients of this food, especially for the price. I am sticking with it because of the recent developments in my cats heath but I would much rather feed him a more natural cat food.

Keeps my special needs kitty in great health

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Fiber Response HF Dry Cat Food:

My youngest cat, Kibbe, has seizures since she was a kitten as my vet thinks she my have some lingering brain injury from being hit by a vehicle. Kibbe came to me as a foster kitten and I adopted her when a friend of mine refused to because of her ongoing medical care of her seizures. Her seizure medicine slows down her GI system and she would have to be hospitalized several times a year to relieve her chronic constipation. This food has stopped this cycle of medicine induced constipation from occurring in her. Great food for a medically challenged kitty.

      Saved my cats life.

My cat has been on this for about a month now and it has helped so much. My cat was constantly having problems with bad constipation and since being on this food there have been no problems. He's back to his happy, purring, loving normal self. I have even put his brother on it now. I just wish it came in a larger bag than just the 8.8 lb, like the dog food. I have 3 cats to feed.

I tried this food after a very serious blockage episode almost 5 years ago now. I thought I would lose my big boy because of his mega colon. Since finding royal canon - this food has kept him healthy (And Happy) and knock wood we haven't been back to the vet for a "dig out" in years Thank you!!
