Product Information

Make feeding time a way to stimulate you cat with the Catit Design Senses Food & Treat Maze. This interactive food maze stimulates you cat’s brain development while promoting physical activity. It teaches your cat to work for food, which is beneficial when dealing with over-feeding and obesity problems. The maze is a tower with side cut-outs that prompts your cat to move the food through the maze when pawing at it. The rotating disc inside allows you to determine the difficulty needed by allowing the openings to increase or decrease. At the bottom of the Catit Design Senses Food & Treat Maze, there is a food tray where after your cat does all that work; he or she is able to finally be rewarded. Plus, there is an accu-pressure mat at the base which provides a pressure point paw massage. All in all, this is a smart and beneficial way to feed or treat your cat, which you can sure to feel good about.

          suggestion:
I was a bit frustrated with food scattering when I poured it in the opening until I tried using my old canning funnel (a wide-mouthed funnel designed for filling mason jars). It rests perfectly in the top, I pour in about one cup of kibble and slowly lift out the funnel. Only a couple of pieces fall out now & my girls make very short work of the clean-up.

(They are still being a bit stubborn & try to guilt me into spilling food for them... Brats! ;-) They both are trimming down nicely & I haven't had to clean up 'binge&purge' in over a week now!!!)

Comments about Catit Design Senses Food Maze:

This has been a real adventure, I nearly gave up.

My 'mentally challenged' cat figured this one out first - but it took her over a week before she would 'feed' herself (I tricked them, using their yummy hairball treats as a temptation). Once "T" figured it out her sister, the "smart (stubborn) one", would just sit there & pout until "T" or one of us parents spilled a little (can you say, "guilt complex"?). After nearly 2 weeks of pouting she finally fed herself.

They are going through a little less food than before [probably because they are not doing the 'binge & purge' trick] and are no longer begging all the time. Last night one of them finally knocked it over; what a mess!! LOL. If they do it frequently I'll figure out how to anchor it, otherwise...

Both of them are 10 year old indoor cats and needed the extra mental challenge & physical activity. And it seems to have reduced how often I'm cleaning up cat puke!!

Our 3rd little girl is mostly an outdoor cat and, beyond a casual sniff or two, has completely ignored the feeder when she comes inside.

I do wish the catch tray was wider. The food tends to bounce out and go everywhere (tile floor). And one of my girls hesitates to put her face in that close to the tower - she scoops the food out to the floor.

Comments about Catit Design Senses Food Maze:

It definitely slows down the cats in their feeding frenzy. When I first installed it and put their food inside...they gave me the WTH look.

Eventually, one of them figured how to get the food out and they all ate.

Then on day two one of them figured out that if you tip the thing over you can roll it until all the food falls out.

Now we wedge the thing between some cat condos and a bowl of water. They have not been able to tip it yet.

Comments about Catit Design Senses Food Maze:

At first only of of our 12 cats figured this one out right away.. took a couple weeks before the others started using this too.. some actually think it out and push food from one level to another, others just stick their paws in it and try to get as many out as they can lol.. really kind of neat watching them trying to get the goodies out!! We had some cheaters who would got on top and get food that way so we found a large plastic lid and cut a small hole to put food through so they could not get food out that way and had to use maze instead.. My biggest problem with this and why only a four star is that it easily tips over at times when a cat takes paw out,, we have ended up with food all over the floor quite a few times.. Needs a heavier base but, you can work out a way to have something hold one side down so it doesn't tip over in the end.. double sticky tape to floor works for awhile or small rope on one side tied to something does too..
