Product Details

There are a ton of differences between humans and dogsmost noticeably, the amount of fur and legs. But there is a common trait that exists between man and dog and that is food allergies. Like humans, if dogs eat a type of dog food that is rich with commonly used proteins, carbohydrates and/or food additives, it can trigger gastrointestinal upsets, inflammatory bowel disease and skin eruptions. So if your furry friend is allergic to certain foods, it would be smart to put some of Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Hypoallergenic Selected Protein Adult PR Dry Dog Food in his/her bowl. This veterinarian-prescribed food is full of potato and rabbit, two things that are rarely associated with allergic food reactions in dogs as well as essential vitamins and minerals that will help your faithful companion stay healthy from the inside-out, without any discomfort or bad allergic reactions.

*Please Note: Royal Canin Veterinary Diets now ship directly from the Royal Canin facility closest to you (via UPS ground only, expedited service is unavailable at this time). Royal Canin Veterinary Diets do not ship from our distribution centers and cannot ship to a P.O. Box, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO or Canadian addresses. On average, orders are shipped in 24 hours and will take one to two days to reach your home. Please note that orders for Royal Canin Veterinary Diets will not be fulfilled until a copy of a valid prescription authorization is faxed to 877-894-5034 or e-mailed to foodRX@petfooddirect.com.

My dog was diagnosed with ear mites, yeast infections, given washes and antibiotics for years before I finally had it and took her to a specialist for allergies. Who knew! She is allergic to grains in the food. She had a dark brown/black nasty smelling fluid in her ears and shook her head all the time. Blew a vein and had to have surgery for that in her ear too. After two very expensive vet trips, this dog food made all her problems go away. It is expensive but if you love your dog, it is worth it. Mine is a black AKC Lab.

My little terrier has terrible stomach issues and is extremely finicky about food. This Royal Canin rabbit formula solved both problems for about 3 years, but recently, the food has changed dramatically. It used to be dark, almost black, quite oily, and have a rich odor. By contrast, the past 3 bags have contained dry, light brown kibbles, the good odor is gone, and my dog just will not eat it. We have to doctor his food with gravy and crumbled biscuits to get him to eat it. (If he doesn't eat, he gets very sick.)

This is really sad, because it was so hard to find a food for him. I called Royal Canin and they said they are having a hard time getting consistently good rabbit meat and that the problem is not likely to be resolved any time soon. Very frustrating.

My thirteen year old buddy has terrible allergies, this dog food seams to help. He loves it, (can you imagine eating the very same food for 12 years?). He gobbles it up twice a day as though he has never eaten before!

Our dermatology vet found this Royal Canin product and we like using it; ordering it is absolutely HORRIBLE from Royal Canin. We waited 17 days for this to arrive from the time we placed an order; had to call 3 or so times and never really got much more than a run-around about WHY? Service like this is so unacceptable.

This was an expensive pet food, but my dog loves the taste more than his old food. He will even take it as a treat
