The food is very pricey. But my male cat has to have it. If we try other foods he will get an Urinary Tract Infection even thought he has had the UTI Surgery. He also has had colon surgery. So colon is sensitive. And this food has been very gentle on his stomach and colon. He is a Feral cat found in a burning brush pile and saved. He had damage from the fire to his colon and has had surgery but still has some nerve damage and he has had UTI surgery. Oh! No one put him and his two litter mates in the fire. His feral mother hide them there. No one knew they where in the brush pile. Great for cats with stomach, colon and Urinary Tract issues.

My cat seems to like this new Urinary blend that we have to have him on post-blockage. He'd been on all dry food leading up to the hospital visit because he has bad teeth (and actually, we think the stress of the cleaning may have been to blame for the block). Wet food is messier but he seems to like this brand and hasn't had any issues with digestion, etc. We'll stick with it because we have to, but I am not thrilled with the amount of animal by-products in the ingredient list. We took great care to keep those out of our cat's diet but it seems we don't have a choice, looking at this and the other vet-prescribed Urinary blends. C'est la vie.

Pleasantly surprised!

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

My cat was recently diagnosed with Feline Urologic Syndrome and was placed on Purina UR. I was concerned that she would not immediately take to the new food however she immediately ate it the first day I put it in front of her. It was very similar to what she was used to, Purina Proplan Hairball Control.

My cat loves it.

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

After my cat developed crystals in his bladder and nearly died, he was started on this. He loves it. I don't know if he's just an odd cat, but he will eat nothing else. And I mean nothing. I even offer him treats every now and again of real chicken or hamburger, cooked, of course, but he sniffs it and disregards it. Since he's been eating this food his crystals have not returned and I'm sure he's happy about that. It is a little pricey compared to urinary care foods sold at the grocery store, but I don't know that I can trust them, whereas I know I can trust this. And my cat is worth it.

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

My cats had to go on the UR diet for urinary issues and it definitely seems to be helping. I wasn't thrilled with the ingredients as i don't think they are as good as the cat food i fed them previously, but the urinary issues are the key issue now, so we're satisfied. And now they turn up their noses at the "better" stuff. so there you go!

    Saved my cat

    By Timmysmom

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

My male cat had an emergency blockage removed, but no one mentioned what food he should be on instead. I lucked out and found a vet that I took him to after he showed signs of another blockage, and he said he was still healing (therefore the small signs of blood drops) and suggested this food. I am always leery of prescription diets, but my cat (including my 1 yr) went face-down in this food and hardly came up for air! He is healthy, happy and confortable again. This all happened within a 3 day period. I'm keeping both my boys on it, even though it is a tad pricey. But much cheaper than an emergency visit!

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

This is a great alternative to just having canned food. My male cat is over 13 years old and has been on the UR diet for about 3 years - it's expensive though and we needed something to supplement the wet food. He loves it and it doesn't cause any urinary issues. Highly recommend!
