Yes it's expensive but then I own what I call the $3,000 cat. That's because he doesn't drink enough water and is prone to developing crystals in his urinary tract. So the better alternative is to keep him out of the vet hospital and feed him this. Besides I love the goofy little guy and he actually likes it so it's a win-win. If your vet prescribes it then I can tell you my cat has been on it for years and there have been no problems with blockage in that time. It works! I also love that Pet360 has the shipping program which means I don't have to worry about running out.

My cat seems to like this new Urinary blend that we have to have him on post-blockage. He'd been on all dry food leading up to the hospital visit because he has bad teeth (and actually, we think the stress of the cleaning may have been to blame for the block). Wet food is messier but he seems to like this brand and hasn't had any issues with digestion, etc. We'll stick with it because we have to, but I am not thrilled with the amount of animal by-products in the ingredient list. We took great care to keep those out of our cat's diet but it seems we don't have a choice, looking at this and the other vet-prescribed Urinary blends. C'est la vie.

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox URinary Feline Formula Dry:

The younger of my two cats was plagued with urinary tract blockages. He had two emergency and very expensive vet treatments to save his life. The vet recommemded using this Purina prescription product after the grocery store urinary tract blends were not doing the job. Boh of my cats love this food and eat it freely. The younger cat has had no more trouble with blockages after about a year of use. I am quite happy with this food. It is life saving. The extra cost is worth it for the effectiveness.

      Pleasantly surprised!

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox URinary Feline Formula Dry:

My cat was recently diagnosed with Feline Urologic Syndrome and was placed on Purina UR. I was concerned that she would not immediately take to the new food however she immediately ate it the first day I put it in front of her. It was very similar to what she was used to, Purina Proplan Hairball Control.

      My cat loves it.

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox URinary Feline Formula Dry:

After my cat developed crystals in his bladder and nearly died, he was started on this. He loves it. I don't know if he's just an odd cat, but he will eat nothing else. And I mean nothing. I even offer him treats every now and again of real chicken or hamburger, cooked, of course, but he sniffs it and disregards it. Since he's been eating this food his crystals have not returned and I'm sure he's happy about that. It is a little pricey compared to urinary care foods sold at the grocery store, but I don't know that I can trust them, whereas I know I can trust this. And my cat is worth it.
