Miss Shana is an old girl at 16 and now has Chronic Renal Failure (CRF), which is a progressive, irreversible deterioration of kidney. Furthermore, she has protein allergies to beef ... eating it results in open sores. Therefore, she has always been on a high-quality, pure content (no beef by-products as fillers) diet. I feared switching her diet would be a nightmare. She loves the little cans with the chuncky food and has started to gain back much of the weight she has lost over the past year! Now, the tricky part is keeping her sister out of her food =^..^=

Ms Winnie is a very picky eater but she is older now with Kidney problems and I do not want her to be in pain or die earlier than her time so I listened to my Vet Doc and bought her this food. At first it was OK but she likes varity and that is not offered in Medicine Food but it should be, and so should the fact that this food be affordable for people who loves and cares for their pets and do not want to loss their pets. She is part of my family and if people has choices so should my cat. So if a cat food company is reading this improve please so that my cat family can live a long and good life as well as anyone else. thanks

speedy delivery- excellent service and my 18 year old kitty has the beginning stages of renal insufficienty and wouldn't eat the other prescription KD diet food- she licks the gravy and eats a tad of the morsels- works for me!

My 6-year old male feline ended up with the disease overnight. It's only been a couple days but he seems to enjoy the taste, thankfully. He's always preferred canned food over dry which helps greatly. Wished there was medicine that he can be given to help heal the kidneys also.

        ZEE LIKES THE MORSELS

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Renal LP Modified Morsels in Gravy Canned Cat Food:

Tried the other Royal Canin renal diet. Zee would eat very reluctantly. Seems to prefer the morsels and the sauce. I do still squish it up a bit as he seems to leave more bits if I don't.
I do sometimes use another non rx product (top of can is green- no names allowed!) that has 7% protein (the chicken one, vet says no fish) when Zee goes off the Royal Canin. Usually gets back on it in a day. I also give him a few R. Canin crunchies as a treat but they are 21% protein so limit use.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Renal LP Modified Morsels in Gravy Canned Cat Food:

My cat is 17 years old and has been on kidney diet food for two years. She generally likes this food, sometimes refuses to eat it.

It's more smelly than regular food.

But, her kidney disease has been kept in the mild category as a result of this diet, which means she is living a normal life - all you want for your pet.
