If this product expensive? Yes....but you get what you pay for. Knowing you can feed this product and not have to worry about your cat developing more urinary tract issues is: PRICELESS! I spent $1700 in vet bills before I found this product. There are others that claim to be sensitive to the needs of cats with urinary tract issues but don't do any better at preventing problems that any other ordinary food. This product actually does what it promises, no ifs ands or buts! Terrific product and my picky eater car loves it!

The only good thing I can say about this food is that my cat hasn't gotten bladder stones again since he's been eating it. He needed two surgeries in 2010 to get rid of the oxalate stones. Nothing will dissolve these stones, so they need to be prevented at all costs. I know this food is garbage because his coat is dull, he has dandruff, and he pukes up the food regularly. However, the stones are life-threatening and as long as they don't come back, I'll keep buying this expensive garbage food. I would only recommend this as a last resort if you cat has recurring oxalate stones. Otherwise, it is garbage and I truly feel bad that I have to feed it to my cat.

    Urinary SO is great

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Urinary SO 33 Dry Cat Food:

My male cat has been eating Urinary SO food for over 10 years. He has never experienced another urinary tract infection during all of that time. I switched from the wet canned food to the dry pellet food about seven years ago, when the price of the canned food practically doubled and became far more expensive than the dry version. I am very happy with this product. The only way to purchase it is through my local veterinarian's office, and they keep it well stocked.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Urinary SO 33 Dry Cat Food:

I am feeding my 3 male cats Royal Canin Urinary SO food, because I had switched their food to Blue and after a couple of months they all wound up in the hospital with kidney blockages and struvite stone. I almost lost all 3 male cats, but luckily my vet was great. They were hospitalized about all at the same time and the vet bills were over $4000.00.
One cat is 16 yrs, one is 7 yrs, and the other is less than 2 yrs old. Now I must use the Royal Canin Urinary SO food for these cats, which is much more expensive, but it beats having $4000.00 in vet bill. The last 2 cats that were hospitalized, are still having problems and are being treated to urinary infections. Pleases take this as just a word of caution about what you feed your male cats, especially if you cannot afford the large vet bills!

Our vet recommended this product for our senior cat. She has been using this for years now and seems to really enjoy it. Shipping is quick and the price is fair. I highly recommend this if your cat has UTI problems, the wet version is also a quality product.
