Product Details

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal MP Modified Dry Dog Food is an easy to digest, delicious meal designed to manage dogs with kidney disease. By enhancing nutrients like B vitamins and the fatty acids EPA and DHA, and restricting others such as protein, phosphorus, and sodium, this healthy food for dogs slows down the development of this condition while minimizing uncomfortable symptoms associated with it. Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal MP Modified Dry Dog Food is a prescription only, veterinarian recommended formula intended to be fed on a supplemental basis. It is high in energy, but low in protein to protect your dog's kidneys from further damage. Sodium restricted and B vitamin enhanced, Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal MP Modified Dry Dog Food offers a nutritionally balanced meal that also tastes great.

Use this product 2 times a day, my dog hasn't gotten sick and still loves to eat. Our vet recommended this and we'll stick with it. If this can control his kidney disorder at 3 years old it's the best in my book. So far so good....

My 8-10 year female, pure bred, black lab was diagnosed in April of "early" renal failure. I had noticed she started piddling in her bed. Vet ran blood & urine #'s to be quite high in specific categories.

Started her on SD k/d, she was too wild about it but ate the 1st bag. Second bad, we gobbled it down but needed some of the canned "enticement". Third bag, started turning her nose up to it. Even with the canned mixed in.

She lost her "energy", her breath has really gotten stinky!!! The ONLY thing I can get her to eat now are Purina Beggin' strips. I give her 3 every 2-3 hours for something to eat. Her energy is back, but still WILL NOT eat the SD k/d.

Taking her to vet today to get new blood numbers and HOPE there is some improvement. Hoping the Royal Canin will be tastier. SD suggested I try warm water/microwave it to bring out the flavor & aroma-NOPE. I even tried melting a little bacon grease and drizzling a little on the k/d-NOPE.

My dog has to be on prescription Renal food. We tried many other brands that he didn't like. This was the only kind that he would happily eat. Fast shipping too!

I've fed this food for six months to my mini schnauzers. Her cholesterol and tricylceries are high and I'm wondering if this prescription dog food is adding too much fat to her diet. It says minimum of13.50% crude fat, but there is no maximum fat amount given. Does anyone know anything about this? Barbara
