The natural power of pine destroys ammonia odor. Cats prefer the feel of cracked pine to large, heavy, coarse pellets. Absorbs more odor causing liquid.

This is the best litter I've found for an apartment situation where odor control is important. I need to keep my two-cat litterbox in my home office and crystal litters just weren't working. My cats refused pellet litters, and the smaller-grained pine litters which I tried stuck in the cats' fur, but this one was just right. Although it does track more than crystal litters, it's the best of the wood-based litters I've tried by far. It also has far less dust than crystal litters, which is great for a home office with computers!

My cats won't use this. They like other pine litters, but this hurts their paws. My big boy used the couch instead, to inform me of the fact. Don't waste your time! I tried putting my hand on the litter and it is sharp. My two cats were feral kittens from a briar bush surrounded by trash--they aren't pampered softies, but they won't use iT. My pampered softie just won't cover her poo, she doesn't want to dig in it. OUCH!!!

This litter stays relatively odor free and fresh longer than any other litter I've used. Believe me, I've tried them all! Furthermore, my cat likes it! It tracks a bit, but overall, it's the greatest!

Comments about Healthy Pet Cracked Pine Cat Litter:

I really like to use this litter half and half with the pelleted pine litters such as Feline Pine Original, or another pine PELLET litter, and here is why: Pine pellets last forever, even with several cats that pee a lot, the box takes over a week to become really wet and saturated with urine, BUT, the pellets are not really well-liked by some cats, because they do not have a diggable texture. This is where this litter excels! Put down a 1 inch layer of a pine pellet litter, then cover it with an inch of this litter, and the cats LOVE it, it works great, it stays dry for a whole week, and makes perfect sense! I've also used this litter alone, and it works fine, but it REALLY EXCELS when you mix it half and half with a pine pellet (or maybe even any pelleted litter). Try it, if you're not someone who likes scoopable litters, but prefers to just change the box when it gets wet on the bottom, this combo will impress you! And here's a tip for scooping: Take any normal litter scoop, and cut out every other tine in the back, and pelleted litters are now easily scooped with no waste! See picture of this litter, mixed with Feline Pine Pellets as directed in this review, with hacked litter scoop!

Comments about Healthy Pet Cracked Pine Cat Litter:

I had litter boxes with several different litters available for my cats to use and this is the one they picked. I like that it is environmentally friendly. It handles odors with out making the house smell like a pine tree.
