This is the best food to give to a cat that suffers from Feline Stomatitis. This is an inflamation of the throat and effects the gums and teeth. My Mushki has been having trouble swallowing when she eats. She is quite sore at the back of her throat. On top of this she is positive for Feline Aids, so her immune system does not help this condition.

This wonderful food can be warmed up and even if she gets a litte in her, this will help keep her weight up. Beat having to go to the Dentist and spend a fortune having teeth removed!

I'm sure this product would deliver the higher calorie content, but my cat took one smell and that was it. I couldn't even get it under her nose again. I've tried several times, but she has no interest in trying the food. Not even one little lick. I bought a whole case, I guess I'll have to feed it to the wild animals. The crows would probably eat it. I wish it did work because my poor old little kitty girl really needs to put on some weight. I would recommend if you cat needs extra calories, just couldn't guarantee they would eat it.

Comments about Iams Veterinary Formulas Iams Veterinary Formula Maximum Calorie Canned Food:

I'm using this food to syringe feed my cat through a feeding tube. Unfortunately it does have to be ground up and strained to work with most syringes, but it's worth it to see my cat get better.

I will say that most cats do not like the taste of this food, so you shouldn't count on your cat eating it.
