I started to use HSD Duck D/D about 1 year ago for my dog with severe allergies. He had a wide spectrum of symptoms, ranging from upset stomach, diarrhea, skin sores, skin irritation, hair loss on his stomach and chronic ear infections.
I have changed many things to improve his quality of life, but I think the food is the first step. I also upgraded his crate to a better quality crate, upgraded his bowls to better bowls. In addition, he only gets Freezy Pups ice cube treats and 3 Dog Bakery cookies with no eggs. I'v gotten him off of spot-on flea treatment completely and use an all natural spray called Sentry Natural Defense. He gets regular baths (only once a month) with medicated shampoo. Fleas are under control, I haven't found one yet.
He is doing really well. We still struggle to control the ear infections but have reduced the number of vet visits for those over a year. I find he has a peak allergy season from June to about September, so we just up the routine of things we do to keep it under control. It has been a real journey learning how to help a dog with allergies. I had two other dogs before him that were on HSD dog food products, and I only have good things to say about the food. I see what others say about HSD, but my animals have done really well on it and like the taste of the foods. So I am happy when they are. Hope that helps...

While grateful there is a prescription food option for my dog while she is sick, the food is already so expensive and I repetitively found the cans only 2/3 full of food with large empty craters inside. I have gone through 3 cases and it has been a consistent problem. I am finally able to have her on dry food and am using the DD dry food which I am happier with as I do not feel cheated.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet d/d Duck Formula Canine Canned Food:

Twice a day topped with some chicken or turkey
It works as prescribed, keeps allergies at bay.
Nothing found that is bad about, I can only say good things about it.
