My male Maine Coon cat had crystals about 3 years ago, went into kidney failure and almost died. The vest prescribed Hill's C/D and he's been eating it ever since. He likes it, and has had no recurrences. The vet said it was okay to feed C/D to our other two male cats, one of whom has medium black hair and we've noticed a change in his coat since he's been eating C/D. His coat is beautiful now! Two of our cats love C/D canned, but the one who had crystals will only eat the dry food. Go figure!

Works great to prevent bladder stones but has fatty content as a result. This leads to overweight cats even when they are moderately active. Also, skin irritation develops (dry skin leads to scratching leading to infections). Recommend antihistamine supplements if this develops, seems to work well to prevent this if a cat has food allergies that this product acts upon. Needs better nutrition quality, possibly a different lower fat base product an more reasonable price. Many get stuck paying ridiculous prices because of a need for a product. Supply and demand I suppose...

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Feline Dry Food:

My cat got frequent urinary tract infections despite my efforts to change her water and litter frequently. I even got one of those water fountains for her to drink out of, thinking it would make a difference. Hills prescription diet c/d was the variable that made the most difference and stopped the UTI's for good.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Feline Dry Food:

My 10 year old male tabby Peanut has always suffered with bladder issues. I started making his food homemade, but recently life became to busy for me to do this, and his health suffered. We ended up at the emergency vet with him close to death. This food has worked to keep him in good condition without my having to run all over town for ingredients. I am so happy that this has helped him get well.
