We have been feeding this to my cat. We fed this food to him by hand. We placed it in his mouth. He has gained almost an entire pound in a week and is up and around again. He ate some food on his own today. Hill's is awesome. My cat is my best friend and it means the world to me to see him gaining and being ok again. Thanks Hills!!!

We feed WD dry and can to our diabetic dog. She likes the dry ok but we have always mixed a little can food with dry food and so she is looking for this. But she hates the WD canned...it's like trying to eat peanut butter...sticks to roof of her mouth. It needs more "gravy" or something to make it easier to eat. Also it is super expensive. We are feeding it because she has to have it. But I feel that it is why it is so expensive....you know you got us between a rock and a hard place. We have to have so you know we will pay the outrageous prices. It has been a huge financial burden on two retired people. If we had other options we would definatly try something else.

This product is to costly and after comparing the ingredients to other brands there is nothing in it that justifies the high price.

Expensive, but when they're sick, valuable

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet a/d Canine/Feline Canned Food:

My dog has been in critical liver failure, and nothing would pique her appetite. This did! She was able to eat this w/o hesitation.( My cat kept trying to eat it, too.) After dropping several pounds, she was finally able to start putting back on some of weight. Since eating caused her a lot of abdominal pain, she wouldn't eat anything on her own--except this.

Enjoyed by the Pickiest of Eaters!

    By MarisaOC

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet a/d Canine/Feline Canned Food:

My cat Sadie would barely eat anything, due to her then-undiagnosed congestive heart failure. She had lost significant weight on her already small frame, and was in very bad shape. After searching high-and-low for something to help her out, this food was suggested in groups all over the internet as the go-to food for ailing pets. Sure enough, Sadie was - and still is - in love with this food! She put the pounds back on in no time. I wish I could still give it to her, but it really doesn't agree with her Inflammatory Bowel Disease... but that's what the I/D is for, which she loves, too. I know when her heart condition eventually worsens, this again will be our go-to food. Very thankful for this product!

    Thanks A/D

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet a/d Canine/Feline Canned Food:

My 13 year old Chow Chow stopped eating gradually. She has always been a picky eater but would eat on her own terms. She started even turning her nose up at treats. We took her to the vet and after going to a specialist and many tests we found out she has Cushing's disease. She also has pretty bad arthritis. Normally Cushing's dogs eat a lot but not ours. Anyway we had tried all kinds of dog food, wet and dry and she didn't want any of it. The internist brought in some A/D and she liked it. So we have been feeding her that. I am thankful for it because when your baby won't eat it worries you to death. So if you have a dog that won't eat and is losing weight ask your vet about A/D. It isn't cheap but my baby is worth it. :)
