My dauchshund has had stomach issues for many years, after he was cured the first time, very expensive stays at the vet, I ended up putting him back on regular food... my mistake. After a while he began having similar issues, I immediately put him back on this food mostly dry, but some wet as well, and he was fixed and good as new. It is a little expensive, but worth every penny to keep my little AJ in tip top shape and keep his belly feeling good. He loves the taste of it anyway, so he really thinks he's just getting extra spoiled!

This helps with my dogs GI issues, I have no doubt about that, but the price keeps me from being able to afford it every time. Our other 2 dogs eat a premium diet, so I switch back and forth for our 3rd dog. There is so much information regarding what to feed our dogs that it gets confusing as to what is truly healthy for them and what is not. I wish I could feed this every time though because I don't want my dog getting sick again.

Now that coupons are few and far in between the cost is becoming a problem. SS is not keeping up with cost of goods and services we must buy.

Very good product but has become costly in this shrinking economy.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Dry Food:

When our dog came down with pancreatitis, he was put on this food. I learned a lot about this food compared to the other food we had him on. I have kept him on this food. He has a lot more energy and his coat is soft and shiny. I recommend this food for dogs with digestion issues. I also use this food as his treats instead of dog biscuits.
I am happy to have my dog healthy again.
I am so happy to be able to have it shipped to my house.

    Good but pricey

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Dry Food:

This food helps my older dog with her digestive issues now that she is a senior dog. She never had them until this stage of her life. She likes the flavor and eats it well. It keeps her weight down as well even though it isn't the low fat. I just wish the price wasn't so high but I do whatever I can to help her and keep her healthy.

    Nothing else worked!

    By Griffon16

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Dry Food:

My most recent Birddog Rescue was very ill and required immediate emergency abdominal surgery - before even coming home from the shelter. Post op, the DVM prescribed i/d canned initially -- to be gradually mixed in with dry after a week or two. Within a few days, the diarrhea resolved. After a few weeks we attempted to gradually introduce him (mixing a little in at a time) to other foods, but he could not tolerate anything else. When we put him back on the i/d 100%, his GI system stabilized i.e. no more diarrhea --- and he gained back (over the next few months) the 10# he had lost during his illness/post op. We kept him on the i/d for 7 months post op, and just recently we successfully weaned him off it to a 'normal' diet (also Hill's). The i/d was literally a life-saver for him.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Dry Food:

i ordered this for my carne corso when she developed what the vet diagnosed as pancreatitis. she is 6 years old and couldnt hold down the usual kibble so this bland diet was recommended. it helped shed some weight off the dog, it is of good quality as my dog's coat continues to be shiny, and she immediately stopped vomiting and since never had any bouts of vomiting when started on this diet.
