Buster is constantly begging. He has diabetes and all the problems that come along with it. Buster is the world's finest pet, and of course I will do whatever it takes to keep him healthy. Excess weight, diabetes and digestive troubles can cause problems for your dog. Weight problems can be successfully managed through changes in your dog's food. Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Digestive & Weight Glucose Management Dry Food provides weight control and nutritional management of fiber responsive diseases such as diabetes. It also helps dogs maintain normal blood glucose levels and promotes healthy digestion. Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Digestive & Weight Glucose Management Dry Food is clinically proven to help dogs maintain a healthy weight. High levels of carnitine increase energy metabolism and burn fat while increasing lean muscle mass. Moderately high fiber levels provide a feeling of fullness and may help reduce begging. This fiber rich formula helps stabilize and minimize fluctuation of blood glucose levels in diabetic dogs, and contains added antioxidants to control cell oxidation and promote a healthy immune system.

For about 9 years my dog has been eating Prescription Diet w/d and loved it. The food would barely hit the bowl and she would be eating it up so fast. Her digestion was regular and her coat was shiny. Recently, the formula was updated to apparently include "better chicken parts" and she completely rejected eating it. We had to switch to another Prescription Diet food but she also does not like that very well but eventually will eat it. The new chicken flavor smells not only in the bag and bowl but her breath is awful too. She never had a problem with that before. Her coat seems dry and she is shedding more than she every has before. We've been happy with the Prescription Diet for the past 9 years and recommend the brand but the new switch is not settling well with our 11.5 year old dog. Bring back the plain w/d!!

W/D Packaging

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Dry Food:

Have been feeding W/D to my Airedales for over twenty years. They like it and it keeps their stools firm and easy to pick up. My complaint is the packaging. Since Hills' switched to the plastic bag every time I try to open one, I get PO'd. Am I missing something? I am ready to switch to another product.

It really does the trick for my dog

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Dry Food:

I bought this product for my dog a couple months ago when she was having diarhea problems. Her bowl movements are so nice and firm that I decided to keep her on this food, even though it is expensive. She is a Toy Poodle/American Eskimo breed.

My two rescue dogs have sensitive tummys. My friend, who is a vet, told me to get this food for them and mix it with their normal food. It made a major difference in their health.

    Very good product.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Dry Food:

My female Cesky Terrier was diagnosed with bladder stones about 8+ years ago, at which time my male Cesky Terrier, from a different breeder, was tested. He did not have stones, but had crystals in his urine which is the precursor for bladder stones. She underwent surgery and his condition was treated with medication. Both were placed on Hills w/d kibble and w/d wet food had no further problems. Our girl is now gone and the male is almost 13 years old. Unfortunately he has become a very picky eater and no longer likes large cans of w/d and refuses to eat kibble without wet food. Recently his Vet gave us a free sample of Hill's w/d small canned wet food which has chunks of food and gravy. He gobbled up all his food without prompting and was looking for more. This product is a bit pricy but not having to put your dog through the pain of surgery and the cost is well worth it. Also, I love the added feature of velcro that was added to the bag, it makes closing easy and helps keep the food fresh. Great idea! This product does what it's suppose to do; I would have rated it with 5 stars if I could get my picky eater to eat it all the time and not have to constantly come up with new ways to get him to eat.
