My dog doesn't like the taste and I have a difficult time getting her to eat it. She is 13 and had bladder stones removed when she was young. She has been on SD for 3 months during that time she's on Amoxicillin twice a day until the stones desolve. She's had 3 or 4 Xrays and the stone seem to be getting smaller. She also has them in her kidney. She's spoiled and loves to snack. Maybe because of cutting the snacks she is losing weight and is very thin. Also Vet bills are expensive. I am discouraged at how long it is taking for results.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Canned Food:

Fed 1/2 can 2 times a day. It worked last year but the stones came back causing incontenance. We tried this Rx food again for 3 months. X-Ray showed some miner stone shrinkage. Finally had to have surgery 2 weeks ago. She is still on this Rx food. She does like it but it cost $3.00 a can. Much more expensive and messy than her dry food. Must have a prescription. I like free delivery to my door by Pet Food Direct. "Ships in 2-3 days" is misleading. They have to notify your vet and wait for a fax or call from her before setting the order in motion. First order took almost 2 weeks.

    Overall a good product

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Canned Food:

My dog is a finicky eater.......just won't just eat dry food. It is very important that she eats in the morning before I leave for work......so I do the dry food with about 1/2 cup of wet, this works every time because she likes the taste of the wet food.

My dog was saved from a 3rd struvite bladder stone surgery.

    By Sadiemae

from Washington Court House, OH 43160, USA

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Canine Canned Food:

My Shihtzu is 6 years old and has undergone two emergency surgeries for struvite bladder stones. I changed vets, and the new vet placed my dog on the s/d diet for 2 1/2 months as she had bladder stones and an urinary tract infection which required several rounds of antibiotics. The stones dissolved in the time she was eating this diet. If they come back, she will eat it again to dissolve the stones, but is currently is on the c/d diet and three month checkups for urine analysis. This s/d diet saved my dog from another surgery and painful recooperation. Thank you Science Diet S/D and C/D dog foods.
