Both of my dogs have allergies. It took 4 cases of this before my dogs seemed to adjust to it. It has an awful smell and is way to expensive for the size of the can. It was recommended by my vet, but I don't think it works the way she intended it to work as both my dogs are still itiching and rubbing their eyes continually.

Even though the dog food is expensive for 2 dogs...it has really helped with their allergy problem.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Ultra Allergen-Free Canine Canned Food:

Feeding 1/2 of the smaller can five times a day - my dog handles many smaller meals better than two larger ones. She prefers it to the Hills I/D Low Fat food she was on before.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Ultra Allergen-Free Canine Canned Food:

Started my dogs on this food because of allergies, has helped but has not completely solved the issues. I do not know if this is a completely nutritious food? It is very expensive but I am caught between a rock and hard place because I do not have a choice in the matter. Thank you.

no allergy worries and pet loves the taste

By 2cockatoos

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Ultra Allergen-Free Canine Canned Food:

My 7 year old ShihTzu had severe allergies both environmental and food. He also has had to have bladder stones removed. He had been eating the z/d dry food but we needed to increase his water intake. I tried the canned z/d ultra and he loves it. Knowing that the Hill's company stays with a fixed formula on their diets eases my mind that I KNOW THE INGREDIENTS in his food. The quality is excellent and I do not worry about "all those pet food recalls" that have plagued other pet food companies. He loves his diet and I am able to control the portion of his allergies that are food related. I know the food is expensive but it is worth it. Veterinary visits are not inexpensive and the better his allergies are controlled the less visits we have.
