We adopted a 5 1/2 y.o. cat that had periodontal disease necessitating the removal of two molars & possibly a third in the future. The food was recommended. He loves it and, it turns out, so does our other, 10 y.o., cat. Our 5 y.o., prior to Hills T/D, was having issues with his intestines where he would leave little 'pellets' around (yes he was using his litter box). Vet found nothing physically wrong. The 'pellets' stopped once he started the T/D. T/D is pricey but an 8 1/2 lb lasts a month for 2 cats so the per/day cost is very reasonable. The cats are happy, healthy, active with beautiful coats.

I know that by product meal can be a great source of nutrients, but if I'm going to pay these kinds of prices for food, I want a quality meat meal to be the first ingredient, which isn't even on the list of these ingredients. The dog version of t/d isn't much better with grains as the first ingredients. I'd rather brush my cats' teeth then feed them this. It's cheaper and more effective, even if it's terribly difficult. I might consider buying this if a meat meal was the first ingredient or if Hill's grains were GMO free.

The product does clean my cats' teeth, and they enjoy the taste.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet t/d Feline Dry Food:

My four cats love the taste of TD. They eat the TD nuggets first before they eat their other dry food. It is cleaning their teeth well. I'll continue to use it. A great help is the $7.00 off coupon which is found on this site. The vet does accept the coupon!

My cat LOVES his t/d food! His teeth are in great condition. He always picks out the t/d first when I feed him. The other food he loves is Healthy Advantage (adult) by Hill's.
