Make sure the ear is cleaned and dried prior to applying Mometamax. If there is excess hair around the ear canal, clip it to achieve maximal results.

Use exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian. The external ear(s) should be cleaned and dried before each application. Apply the prescribed amount of medication in the ear(s) exactly as directed for up to 7 days.

Most pets tolerate Mometamax well but loss of hearing or balance may occur. These effects are usually temporary. Side effects such as increased drinking/urination, weight gain, diarrhea, and vomiting can occur if Mometamax is ingested. Other side effects are possible. Drug and Food Interactions:
Always discuss other medications or supplements your pet is taking with your veterinarian. Avoid concurrent use with other corticosteroids or other aminoglycosides(ex.neomycin) unless instructed otherwise. Other interactions may occur. Precautions:
Animals who are allergic to the active ingredients should not be given Mometamax. Working (ex.military dogs, police dogs, seeing eye dogs) should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks since vestibular (balance) impairment may occur and may be irreversible. Never use in dogs with a ruptured ear drum.
