Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet b/d Canine Brain Aging Care Dry Food:

My dog, a 17 almost 18 year old 13 lb Jack Russell terrier, was spinning around in circles, seemed lost.
I came home one day at lunch time from work to walk her and she was howling, she never howls.
I brought her to the vet and they thought it may be vertigo or possibly vestibular disease, but that usually goes away within a few months at most.
I gave her Dramamine and that did help, but she still wasn't "herself". Zoe was still off somehow. She wasn't running like she used to or hopping to get going.
I know what you are thinking, she's almost 18! But physically she's still in great shape, she can run, that's the thing. So after some reading online for weeks I found a site that mentioned among other things, this food. Why not try it. It's been almost a month and the last two days have been great. We went on a walk yesterday and today that was about a mile we used to. She walked fast as she used to sniffing the air and stopping to smell everything again. When we came inside I played a new game with her "find the treats" I place some treats on the floor and she finds them. It also helps to incorporate something that helps them to think. She's finding her way around again too. She found her bed and pushed the bedding around and cuddled up.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet b/d Canine Brain Aging Care Dry Food:

Our vet suggested we give this food a try when our dog seemed to have forgotten she liked to eat. Rosy is a 13+ year old Standard Poodle who has always been in excellent help, and for all intents and purposes still is. But she started exhibiting signs of dementia a few months back and then stopped eating, and had to be coaxed to drink. We started feeding her this food about a week ago. We had to encourage her to eat, by using a plastic vial to put chicken broth in both cheeks and reminding her she likes food! We also "retaught" her a couple of her tricks so we could give her a treat, and that seemed to help with her appetite as well. After eating about 75% daily of what she used to normally eat, we are seeing improvement in her. She is "asking" for her walks again, her tail is up, she does her "tricks" for us as often as we'll let her, her stools are solid and normal, she's sleeping better at night, and she just seems happier. We're still having to remind her to eat, with the chicken broth, but now just putting it on the food, about a tablespoon or so, is enough to "wet" her appetite. We're so glad there was something this simple out there to help Rosy with her old age. This morning, when I took her for her morning walk, she seemed almost a puppy at times! This is an excellent product for dogs that are past their prime - they can eat it exclusively and will benefit from it. Also, if your vet will give you a prescription for it, I'd suggest you put your middle age dog on a diet of this and whatever other food you feed it. The supplements in this food definitely help with brain health.
