My wife and I started feeding our dog Turtle the Nutro for sensitive stomachs about 6 months after she joined our family. She was about 2 then. She's 7 now and loves your food. But we humans sometimes make mistakes and during a recent time of financial difficulty we traded down in cost for what we thought was a food with near equal nutrition--one with a popular name and lots of tv commercials touting its excellence. We could not have been more wrong!! Nutro foods give our dog great energy but with this other food she was like a slug, laying around all the time and not her usual happy self. We have found that the sensitive stomachs line gives her less of the unpleasant flatulence as other brands of dog food. Even better, she doesn't go outside 5 times a day to drop waste! After only a week we realized that our hard earned money was going right through our dog and onto the ground, and she didn't like it any more than we did! Nutro is totally different from other brands. It balances nutrition with cost and we happily gave up our less expensive trade and upgraded back to Nutro Sensitive. I left for work early this afternoon so that I could stop to buy some at the pet store. We're sticking with Nutro from now on. Turtle licked her bowl tonight after dinner--something she only does with your food. I guess it's her seal of approval.

My dog's been having a hard time with this food. After switching from Nutro's Lamb and rice formula, this chicken first ingredient feed was a big mistake. Not only the dog has diarheea after a romp in the park, his whole body smells like chicken feed. And he's passing gas quite a lot. People are asking me what I'm feeding him, after they see my dog splash diarheea all over the park. If he is just walked, not romping in the park, his stool is soft, at best. After this 30 lbs bag is finished, I am switching back to Lamb and rice, for sure. At $ 50 a bag (30lbs), I can't wait for it to be finished. I want to be able to pick up after my dog, and not be embarassed when he poops.

SAD & MAD

By Lisa S

from Covington, GA

Comments about Nutro Natural Choice Chicken Meal, Rice & Oatmeal Dry Dog Food:

It took me 9 tries to find a food that my dog would eat and he loved Nutro. And then Nutro up and changes their formula now my dog refuses to eat. (They changed the oatmeal to sweet potato) Not only did you change the formula now you have a ton of "similar" products to confuse consumers. Now I am stuck trying to find a new food...sad and mad all at the same time

Disappointed in the formula change

By BullyLady

Comments about Nutro Natural Choice Chicken Meal, Rice & Oatmeal Dry Dog Food:

I have been buying this for my dogs for almost 7 years, since they were puppies. I have show dogs and rescue dogs all which loved it. Now Nutro not only changed the appearance but changed the formula from oatmeal to sweet potato and not one, but ALL of my dogs HATE it. So disappointed that they messed with the dog food. I am now trying to manage to find a new food they like and doesn't make them sick.

Used to love it, now dog HATES it.

Comments about Nutro Natural Choice Chicken Meal, Rice & Oatmeal Dry Dog Food:

I have been buying Nutro for my dog since she was a puppy. She had loved the food. Since you made the change with the "New look, same great taste" she refuses to eat it. She throws it all over the floor and will not eat it. I bought the usual 30 lb bag. It was a waste of money and time. I don't know what is wrong with the food that she won't eat it, but even when I smell the food, it doesn't smell good like it used to. I am VERY disappointed!!!!! I will cook food for her myself, at least then I will know EXACTLY what goes into her food bowl.

Comments about Nutro Natural Choice Chicken Meal, Rice & Oatmeal Dry Dog Food:

Our pups [4, 3 & 6m] ate Blue Buffalo since we got them. We found that it was way to strong for them. Constant upset stomachs [horrible gas]. With the guidence of our vet we decided to switch them to Nutro & have been so please. No more upset stomachs or gassy pups. They love their food & we love having peace of mind that we are giving them a high quality food that is perfect for their needs. We have referee many friends & family to make that change to Nutro♡

Great food without the byproducts

By MomOf3Furbabies

from Florida

Comments about Nutro Natural Choice Chicken Meal, Rice & Oatmeal Dry Dog Food:

We had our dogs on another brand of decent dog food when we had to keep taking Chihuahua to the Vet to have his glands expressed. The Vet explained that some smaller breeds of dogs do have this problem and it's just something that we have to live with. Upon some research, I found that more fiber and food without byproducts could help. We switched to Nutro Naturals a few years ago and have not had one gland issue since. The extra few dollars we spend monthly on the better food more than makes up for monthly visits to the Vet and w pe feel good about giving our dogs a better food.
