Product Details

When a small breed dog carries around too much weight, he or she is unhealthy and has less enjoyment in everyday activities. To lose weight correctly, a small breed dog must stimulate the use of its fat reserves. The amino acid L-carnitine may play an active role in fat metabolization, so it is included in Royal Canin Mini Breed Weight Care Dog 28 Dry Dog Food. Optimal levels of protein and fat meet reduced energy requirements and help maintain muscle mass. The factors that can lead to excess weight gain in small breed dogs include an unsuitable diet and genetic predisposition. Royal Canin Mini Breed Weight Care Dog 28 Dry Dog Food is for overweight small breed adult dogs up to 20 pounds who are from 11 months to 8 years of age. This premium dog food tastes great while helping reduce or maintain a healthy weight.

I have an over weight miniature daschund. We have tried multiple other brands of dog food to reduce her weight. This is the only food she will eat! She loves it!! I had been feeding her the Royal Canin Daschund formula, which she obviously loved too much :) She actually picked out this new food from her old. I was so shocked!! Other brands, she just sat at her food bowl and cried. This formula seems to keep her full and satisfied. It has also reduced her begging at the dinner table. We have been on this new formula for a couple of months and have seen positive results. Thanks Royal Canin. Another fabulous product!

Read the ingredients-- mostly chicken by-products, corn and gluten. I can't believe vets recommend and sell this!

Results are promising so far.

Comments about Royal Canin Mini Breed Weight Care Dog (28):

My chiweenie has had weight issues for the past few years and it has been a struggle to get her to lose weight. I originally had her on the Nature's Recipe dry food and then switched her later to Biljac. I am now in the process of switching her to the Weight Control dry food. So far, the results are promising. She is also not snubbing the new dry food. I did try the Weight Control canned food as well, but she didn't like it.
