Our cat Josie was put on a Renal diet about 4 months ago. We feed the Renal Support D version one can per day mixed half again with our previous RAW Chicken diet we have prepared for that last two years to feed our cats. Since we make the RAW in bulk we weigh out the amount of food for the cats (we also have Willie of the Willie Critter Tales series books). My issue is that 8 out of 10 cans of the Royal Canin are net weight of 2.8 to 2.9 oz and not the 3.0 as listed on the can. That is one can shortage of food every 30 cans. Not a great loss, but still it is a loss. I do not want to suggest you change the label but would like you to provide one can free of every 24 to 30 sold as this is the amount of loss to the consumer.

At first, I was elated that my little guy loved this food. As all CRF 'parents' know, the low protein diets are not at all appealing to our felines. When these first came out there was a different one that he seemed to like better. That was discontinued and E, T and D were put out for wet food. I've been buying these for a few years now and have noticed major inconsistencies in the quality of the food. The colour/odour/consistency (eg. sometimes the food has other unprocessed pieces of 'meat' in them). issues are too frequent. I've experienced this before with Medical Royal Canin. I think the company needs to have more rigid quality control standards to ensure that each batch is consistently of a high quality. It's one thing to have a pet that has to be on a restricted diet, but please try and at least make the food palatable for them. Whatever you were doing 2+ years ago was working but has now gone downhill. It's very difficult justifying paying so much for something when I don't feel confident in the product anymore.

That said, every 3 batch seems to be 'ok'. Hopefully this works for someone else's felines!!

My kitty loves it!

I was panicked and heartbroken when my ginger kitty was diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. The vet recommended this and I was worried at first because she is finicky. She LOVES this. She's even eats the morsels instead of just licking the gravy (like she did before her renal support diet). I'm also soooo happy her bloodwork shows she's not getting worse

About a month ago I adopted an 8yr old maine coon mix from a shelter! He is now my best friend and who wouldn't want to give their best friend the BEST! He LOVES royal canin! He will follow me around and meow until I give him extra sometimes as a treat! & it makes me feel great knowing he thinks it's good as well as it being good for him at his old age! Thank you Royal Canin!!

Great Help, High Dollar

My 14 y/o cat has Kidney disease and this helped to lower his blood numbers by 1/2. We tried another Rx brand, but he would not eat it. When give this he gobbled it up. Guess it taste better. Unfortunately, it is costly, compared to regular canned food (twice the price), but required for his health.
